Coconut oil and coffee unite thanks to a trio of brothers and their company, Sunniva1. Super Coffee was founded in a Georgetown University dorm room as a way to stay awake in class without turning to artificial ingredients. On February 11, 2018, Jordan, Jimmy, and Jake DeCicco made their national product debut on the hit series Shark Tank.
Though there was interest in investment, ultimately the brothers walked away without a deal to boost the launch of their super-charged, convenient coffee drink. However, that hasn’t stopped Sunniva from making incredible strides to reach the general public.
Sunniva Super Coffee
Made from organic, Colombian coffee, Sunniva’s Super Coffee targets its product to those who are health conscious and makes a great addition to a ketogenic diet. Promoting the ability to use healthy fats for fuel, which is a keto dieter’s mantra, Power Coffee contains coconut oil – a popular source of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) which are known for providing a quick boost of energy without the crash. The addition of 10 grams of lactose-free whey protein makes Power Coffee a creamy, delicious drink that goes down smooth.
Keto Conscious Energy
Super Coffee contains 150mg of natural caffeine, as much as one cup of coffee, and sustainable energy from the infusion of MCTs. Of great interest to keto and low carb dieters, however, is that each drink contains no added sugar and clocks in at only 1 gram of carbohydrates per bottle.
Having an all-natural source for a quick boost of energy is appealing on its own, but having an alternative to traditionally sugar-laden coffee drinks is refreshing for those that mind their carb intake. All of the flavor offerings, which include Creamy Black, Vanilla Bean, Smooth Mocha, and Maple Hazelnut, are GMO-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and made with organic coffee.
Super Coffee Comes to Market
Once only available online, Sunniva has struck deals with a variety of retailers, including health-focused giant Whole Foods, to make their drinks more accessible for consumers. Starting in the east coast market, you can find Super Coffee in Whole Foods, fitness centers, convenience stores, Wegmans, Wawa, and college campus stores in the Washington DC and Boston areas primarily.
With these great strides to make their Super Coffee easy to grab at the store, the DeCicco brothers aren’t letting the results of their Shark Tank appearance slow them down. With a great product that caters to the fast-growing ketogenic, health-conscious community, it’s clear to see that there’s a great need for a quality product that fits neatly into daily macros.
