Servings: donuts |
- 3/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup ground flaxseeds
- 1/4 cup So Nourished granular erythritol
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 10 drops red gel food coloring
- 1/4 cup So Nourished Powdered Erythritol
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 drops red gel food coloring
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Make the donuts first. Begin by mixing the almond flour, flaxseeds, granular erythritol, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, milk, vanilla and food coloring.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir to form a smooth batter.
- Scoop or pipe the batter into a large silicone donut mold. Fill each mold about ¾ of the way up as it will rise and you do not want it to run down into the hole in the center of the mold.
- Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out cleanly.
- While the donuts bake, make the icing by mixing all of the icing ingredients together until smooth. Add a little more dye if desired (we like a light pink color to go with the bright red donuts!).
- Pop the donuts out of the mold and let cool. Drizzle with the icing and then enjoy!
